The Service Award

The Professional Photographers of California Service Award is designed to recognize members who are active within the organization. It is achieved by earning merits doing work that provides a service to our association and to the photographic community. 

The silver service medallion may be worn at all photographic functions, while making presentations, and displayed prominently in your office/studio, etc. 

This Award is designed to demonstrate to your peers and customers your expertise and efforts to improve your profession.  In other words, it can be used as a real marketing tool for your business. Once you have earned 25 service merits you will receive the silver service medallion and certificate at the annual PPC Dinner and Awards event, which is held at the Western States Convention in Pasadena.

Once you have earned your service medallion and continue to earn merits, then you will receive service bars for each 25 service merits you earn.

You can earn merits for virtually everything you do in helping PPC function, and even by serving within your own affiliate.

Examples of merits you can earn are: 
3 merits--Officer in PPC;
2 merits--Committee Chairperson; 
3 merits--Convention Speaker; 
1 merit--Convention Volunteer; 
1 merit--Attend WCS; 
2 merits--Author of Published Article; 
2 merits--Affiliate President; 
2 merits--Affiliate Editor; 
1 merit--Affiliate Speaker; 
1 merit--Affiliate Representative at PPC Board Meetings,
2 merits--Affiliate Editor, etc. 

As you can see, merits are awarded for the efforts you expend on both the State and Affiliate level.

Members wishing to achieve this Award must submit a list of their qualifying accomplishments to the Chair using the Service Merit Form which is found in the Members Only section of this website.

As of July 31st, 2007, the merit form must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the event.
