The Professional Photographers of California (PPC) is pleased to offer California Funday programs. These are unique educational opportunities for PPC members, as well as non-PPC members, to attend small hands-on classes & workshops, in their own hometown, with professionals offering their expertise and first hand experience.
California Fundays are one-day classes, on subjects ranging from pet photography, using Quickbooks, senior portraiture, sports photography, Photoshop techniques and more! If you are a PPC member enrolled in the PPC degree program, your class time may be credited towards your Business & Arts Degree or California Masters.
“Fundays” are just $49 for PPC members and $79 for non-PPC members (non-members can apply the $79 to PPC membership for further member discounts). If you sign up and pay for two Fundays then you can get a third one for FREE! Premium Professional Members will get three free Fundays (included in your membership subscription). Some Fundays will also have additional fees for materials and overnight accommodations, these will be listed for each event and will be payable by all who register for that particular event.
There will be many other Fundays and we will put a schedule on the website just as soon as they are confirmed. Programs we are working on: Fine Art Underwater People Photography with Kristi Elias Sutton; Outdoor available light for people photography with Tim Meyer; Joshua Tree National Park in Sept for Milky Way Photographs; Working with your tablet and phone – things you might not know with THE experts Michael Sauer and Billy Nickerson; Bird Photography at Bolsa Chica reserve; Working on location with NIK’s (now Google’s) Snapseed and other powerful apps; Tehachapi Freight Train Loop and Muslin Dying – make your own custom background, a great fun event with amazing results. As others are scheduled we will let you know, it is our intention to have at least one “Funday” each month

What people are saying about California Fundays
“Hi Sharon, we had such a great time in Joshua Tree with you and all the others. Nadia and I got some really good images and are ready to go practice some more! Your attention to detail, your one on one and your organized program was terrific. Can’t wait to go back out to Borrego Springs again with you next year!
A BIG thank you and hugs.”
“Hi Roger, I just wanted to drop you a quick line to tell you how much fun my boyfriend and I had at Sharon Lobel’s workshop in Joshua Tree. She was a delightful lady and a very patient and generous teacher. She was very knowledgeable about a wide range of equipment, as well as having a great passion for her subject matter. Even though I personally was unable to produce any great images, she made it feel like a successful outing. Thank you for giving us beginner start photographers such a great introduction to the genre.”
“Hi Sharon, I’ll be happy to give a shout out to Roger and let him know what an excellent instructor you were! I had a great time, learnt a lot about the topic and hope to do it again in the future. The event was a memorable experience and you were a wonderful host.
“I just wanted to take a few minutes to give Sharon kudos for being such a great instructor on our recent trip to Joshua Tree. What a fun learning experience. Sharon is very knowledgeable, energetic and excited to share her knowledge with everyone. Sharon also takes the time to be sure no one is left behind. (Nice for those of us that are a little slow!) I will definitely be attending all of her classes in the future.”
“Just a short note to tell you that my experience with Sharon Lobel and the PPC Funday was wonderful! Sharon is the best! She is so full of enthusiasm, knowledge and kindness. It is so easy to learn with her. She is patient, understanding, funny and a very thorough instructor. I found that she was very well prepared for the class and her instructions were clear and concise. I learned a lot this last weekend and had a great time doing it!! I will be the first to sign up for any other classes she decides to teach.”
